Your avatar kind of reminds me of this:
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-E0IBPaVLA_8/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/z8catXIICqA/s250-c-k/photo.jpg
^Symbol of Durga, a mythical goddess of war. You've got everything down, save for the third eye and the nose ring... Not sure I'd hang around to find out what's making her smile.

Coming from someone with as beautifully sculpted a character as yours (10+/10 with ease, I might add, love that pose and aloof gaze) that means a lot, thank you! I'll work on finding a more suitable backdrop, one that matches the lighting.
That's a lovely character. I'd like to suggest using a different lighting preset, maybe one that throws sharper shadows. Also maybe change the pose (the current one makes it look like she's hunching). 8.5/10. |

Self-assured, intense, startlingly pretty. That tattoo nails it. That background clashes with her hair, but that's just me niggling....

The scarring and the shadows complement each other really well; the face looks pretty photo-realistic. And the simplicity of the character design lends to that. The weird hair lighting is the only thing that lets it down. Positioning him in the centre of the portrait wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Overall the character looks to be someone who's a veteran commander in the fleet, someone sent to handle the more dangerous assignments when command doesn't want to dirty its hands. Kind of like the Caldari version of Adama I guess.

Love the hair and the warpaint together; the entire face has symmetry not many people can get out of their avatars. Not sure about the ambivalent expression, though; even the subtlest grimace or smirk could make a difference, IMO. Not sure about the background, but I'll leave it alone, since I have trouble picking those too.

Love the tattoo. Honestly having a hard time deciding which of the avatars (current or the one linked in sig) is better. Good thing they both share that smirk. 10/10. |

I heartily approve of gazes through which shine the burgeoning mania of a mind not quite there. Which is why I like your eyes. And the freckles. And the tattoo.
Not sure about the background.

A different shade of colour on your lips or eyelids would help bring out that dark-light contrast you seem to be going for. A lighter background or more intense lighting over this one wouldn't hurt either. Needs more evilification, basically.
On the other hand... Frecklez. And white eyes. I love freckles and white eyes.

Love the ink, the earrings, the lighting, and how the eyes and the background reciprocate the other: slightly darker lighting might help really bring that out, unless subtlety was your intent...
That hair is blocking the lovely tat by the eye; that being said, said hair works with the face pretty well.
If there's anything that doesn't work, its the smirk. But you're not alone in that, smiles with this creator tend to look really odd for whatever reason.
All in all beautiful, curious, understated. 9/10

Properly wicked. Easily one of the best side-profiles I've seen. Love the ink, and use of that facial tattoo and monocle together; like the hair too. Not sure about the background, though, because it doesn't complement that dark colour scheme you've gone for. To that effect, darker illumination would really benefit the shot; maybe some play with the shadows, too.

Fairly stock character. A pretty face, but, seeing as its Achura, she looks like 90% of the other Achura women out there. The neat and simple look, the well contrasted lighting, they all look alright, but... there's nothing particularly striking in that avatar, to me. Nothing that stands out. In my opinion, if you mess about with different hair, different poses, and the make up to help that steely theme you've got going, it would really benefit your avatar.
At least there is that smirk...

Hot.
Lovely lips, especially with that choice of shade. The always lovely tattoo. Those eyes. That expression that is halfway between anger and brooding disappointment. Somehow, the skin texture seems so good, with that oh so subtle scarring. Your lighting choice plays true to your name, and casts some sharp and unobtrusive shadows. And I don't know what it is, but I really do quite like the choice of hair.
There's nothing else to say, really.

I've always liked your character. It is about the only one I've seen that can make nose rings work, really. Then there's that tattoo (and the subtle tint of arm tats, which I'd honestly like to see more of.
The things that let down this particular portrait are the shadows and the colour contrast. First, the illumination: The light source seems at odds with the background. The light also creates those weird marks on the forehead, which look more like pencil scratches than hair shadow.
Second, there's the colours... Red highlights paired with the green eye shadow, coat, background. To my eye, it seems to clash.
Over all, 8.5-9/10
I know, I wrote stuff about problems, but I can't help it, I like your character. I suspect I have an inherent bias towards Vherokior girls...

More detail in this close-up than in your previous avatar, which lets one see those awesome freckles (I have a weakness for freckles). I love the hair too; the colour looks damn good under that lighting preset, especially how it fades from loud and bright to a dimmer shade. If there's anything that concerns me, it is the background; it doesn't do much of anything (which, in all fairness, you'd expect, seeing as it is the background), but it doesn't suit the avatar.
Stylistically, your previous avatar arrangement suited the other Dusettes more. This one suits you perfectly. And bonus points for freckles and side profile.

Morrigan Nighe wrote: The character was now done and then it almost went to the bin, because I thought it was not good enough to post. It has a flaw that seriously irks me and to my surprise hasn't been mentioned by any of you.
Is it the fact that the green background appears through the corner of the glasses, despite the fact there should be hair in the way of the view? Because to me, that's not a "major flaw": your avatar looks quite good right now. (I think) I've rated your avatar in the past, because I've always liked the effort you seem to put into them. So that "imperfection" with the glasses is one of those things that takes a back seat to an otherwise very good looking avatar. Those little laugh-lines add so much character.
I get why it annoys you so much, though. This char editor has many of those niggling little issues. Like, I simply cannot get Kairavi to smile without her looking like she's recently had root canal surgery.
Love the use of the Blades hairstyle, btw. I wanted to go with Blades as well, but too many things felt off with it overall...
You ever read the Asterix issue where they meet Cleopatra? Because your avatar's nose reminds me of that :D. She does have such a lovely nose...
The problem I've got with your avatar that the framing is awkward, so I'm staring right up her nostrils. And she's got a surprised look in her eyes, like she's been caught doing something she shouldn't be. Props for trying to work the angle and the pose to make it more unique, but for me, you haven't succeeded.
2.5/5 for now. Or how about a different rating system? You get a kitten chasing a spider! |

I've looked at it long and hard and I can't find a single criticism.
She looks like a harsh, cold commander, bordering on cruel. Not a pirate, but a capsuleer who enjoys playing military command structures to her own advantage.
And the avatar itself. You make that background work. And a perfect play of shadows across her face, and I mean perfect, because there's no weird glitches, blemishes; look at that nose shadow... and the way it plays over the left eye...
Great choice of eyes as well, with the tiny irises. That's a thousand AU stare if there is one; cool, empty, deeply awesome.
The expression is what really ties the whole thing together.
And the face augmentations! GÖÑGÖÑGÖÑ The unusual, chiseled quality of the face is all the more spectacular because of it.
Good gravy, I'm having a hard time trying to think of just how to describe how perfect your new portrait is. Its another example of how deeply unique a portrait can actually be made, if someone puts in the effort. And its my new favourite.
...I need to go have a smoke.
Perfection/10.
